Cacao and Mint Protein Smoothie

Cacao and mint are a match made in heaven! You'll find a source of healthy fat, complex carbohydrate and protein in this smoothie, making it a great post workout breakfast option. Mint has a long list of health benefits, but what makes us love this herb during the cooler months is its anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties. Cacao is a well known superfood, famous for its flavonoid rich properties, helping us lower blood pressure, increase insulin sensitivity and improve blood flow throughout the body.

Cacao and Mint Protein Smoothie

(DF, GF, RSF & Vegan) Serves 1

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup unsweetened plant milk
1 banana
3 tablespoon plain or vanilla protein powder (of choice)
 2 tablespoon mint leaves, finely chopped
1 tablespoon cacao
1 tablespoon almond butter
2 teaspoon chia seeds
Ice
1 teaspoon cacao nibs, to garnish
Mint leaves, to garnish

METHOD:
Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender, including ice.

Blend for 30 seconds or until you have a smooth consistency.
Pour smoothie into a serving glass or bowl. Garnish with cacao nibs and fresh mint. Enjoy fresh!
